    The Ritzville Branding Committee will reveal the new city brand and video to the community during the Branding Launch Harvest Party on Wednesday, Aug. 9.     Multiple offices did not receive filings during candidate filing week and has opened for a three-day special filing period on Aug. 7-9. Only the positions that did not have candidates file will be open during this period. In Lind, the Lind School Board has a position opening for Director Position Five.     With approximately 90 percent of Washington’s wheat being exported overseas, it isn’t an exaggeration to say that trade is the lifeblood of Washington wheat farmers.     A good portion of the July 25 Lind Town Council meeting was once again the Steve Nelson show. Nelson, who works with Century West out of Spokane, informed council, Mayor Jamie Schmunk and residents in attendance, that the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has obligated $942,225 in grant money to the Town of Lind to repair streets damaged during the storms in January and Feburary.     Several overlay projects are about to be underway in Adams County, including a couple outside of the City of Ritzville. Two of the projects will be done on Danekas and Schoessler roads. Adams County Public Works Director Todd O’Brien explained that the Danekas Road project is from the city limits to Schoessler Road.     The Aug. 1 Primary Election results show successful levy measures for the Lind, Washtucna and Ritzville communities. Lind’s Park and Recreation District 3 maintenance and operation (M&O) levy is passing with a 68.63 percent success rate. The Park and Recreation District 4 in Ritzville also shows strong support for the M&O levy for the Ritzville Water Park.     The Adams County Hospital District No. 2 Board of Commissioners reviewed the Dec. 31, 2016 and 2015 audit report, prepared by Dingus, Zarecor and Associates, during their regular meeting on July 27.
