Washtucna in Bloom

Our thanks and admiration goes to Washtucna for participating a second year in the America in Bloom awards program.

Special thanks go to Lora Hille, Washtucna in Bloom Chair and all their members, city staff, participants, sponsors and volunteers for organizing a full day of remarkable tours and meetings on July 18.

We have enjoyed meeting and spending time with many of you as you showcased all the reasons Washtucna should be proud.

America in Bloom envisions communities as welcoming and vibrant places to live, work, and play – benefiting from colorful plants and trees; enjoying clean environments; celebrating heritage; and planting pride through volunteerism.

America in Bloom is more than flowers.

Your judges are evaluating your efforts in areas that make communities great – floral display, landscape areas, urban forestry, heritage preservation, environmental efforts, overall impression and community involvement across residential, commercial and municipal sectors.

America in Bloom will provide the committee a written evaluation on Oct. 9. We welcome everyone to attend our symposium, held in Holliston/Boston, Massachusetts on Oct. 5-7, where we will announce this year’s winners in seven population categories and two Circle of Champions categories.
