July 19, 11:41 a.m. – A Washtucna complainant requested a vehicle history report for a junk vehicle on North Main Street.

July 19, 4:19 p.m. – An abandoned vehicle was reported behind a building on West First Street in Lind.

July 19, 8:24 p.m. –

Deputy Hunter Klewin handled a call for the Ritzville Police Department while they were responding to an injury collision scene. Complainant advised of juveniles at the skate park threatening children. One skateboarder said children were throwing rocks at the skate ramps. They were expressing frustration and the children mistook it as a threat.

July 20, 6:20 p.m. – A Lind complainant advised that while out of town, the neighbors advised of a female subject checking the doors to the house on West Third Street. Complainant said there was a recent increase in foot traffic in the alley behind the house. Deputy Klewin told them to call if the female subject returned.

July 21, 4:02 a.m. –

BNSF informed the Sheriff’s Office the crossing arm at Hills Road was malfunctioning and one arm may be broken off. BNSF did not want any response.

July 21, 9:37 a.m. – A Ritzville complainant advised they had just pulled off the road on South Highway 395 at milepost 88 to give water to their dogs when they noticed a Blue Dodge pickup truck stopped and a male was laying in the back of the vehicle with his legs hanging out and they were bloody. The subject continued on.

July 23, 7:58 p.m. – A Washtucna complainant on North Columbia River Lane advised a subject from Ritzville has been contacting them on Facebook and making possible threatening statements and wanted to know their options. Deputy Ned Bernath advised the complainant of their options of seeking court orders, restraining the subject from them. Complainant informed Bernath the estranged spouse did not bring the kids for scheduled visitation in Ritzville as is stated in the Parenting Plan. Bernath advised they contact the Ritzville Police Department and file a complaint.

July 23, 9:36 p.m. – Dispatch advised a subject parked on Interstate 90 milepost 229 in Sprague. Subject with the vehicle said their significant other was trying to kill them. Deputy Bernath and Washington State Patrol arrived on the scene and learned the subject appeared to be in an altered state and was out of gas.

July 24, 8:16 a.m. – Deputy Jeff Lane took a subject into custody after being transferred from Martin Hall.

July 24, 12:10 p.m. – A Ritzville complainant advised of possible child abuse on Harder Road.

July 25, 12:34 p.m. –

A Hatton complainant reported a fraud occurring on Cherry Street. Complainant was told over the phone they would receive grant money from the government, but first needed to buy an iTunes card at Walmart and give the numbers off the back of the card. Complainant did as was told and spent $200, then contacted Walmart and Apple about the fraud case and was advised to contact local authorities.

July 25, 6:50 p.m. –

A juvenile problem was reported at the Lind Swimming Pool.

July 26, 2:28 p.m. – Deputies Lane and Matt Roberson responded to a wheat field fire on North Bauer Road. Fire was on scene and the deputies’ assistance was not needed.

July 26, 4:06 p.m. – A Ritzville complainant advised of a suspicious vehicle described as a white, ‘80s style Buick on East Urquhart and North Marengo roads. Deputy Lane was unable to locate the vehicle.

July 26, 4:16 p.m. – A Ritzville complainant advised of graffiti in the tunnel South of Marengo Road.

July 26, 5:13 p.m. –

A residential burglary alarm on East Rosenoff Road in Ritzville went off. The homeowner advised they set off the alarm on accident and there was no emergency.

July 27, 8:25 a.m. –

A Lind complainant advised of cattle loose on North Highway 21 and North Lind-Hatton Road. Dispatch contacted the owner of the cattle.

July 27, 12:04 p.m. – A Ritzville complainant advised of a turquoise and silver Chevy pickup in the area driving around their farm equipment several times. Deputy Lane and Sergeant Ben Buriak were unable to locate the vehicle.

July 27, 4:38 p.m. – A Lind complainant advised of dogs not being cared for on West Third Street. Deputy Lane contacted the owner and learned another subject had the dog while they were in the hospital. Lane contacted the subject, who verified they had the dog.

July 27, 7:21 p.m. – A Ritzville complainant advised the Sheriff’s Office a motorist ran out of fuel in the area. The complainant gave the subject a ride into town. The subject said they could make arrangements to get fuel for their vehicle.

July 27, 8:46 p.m. –

A Lind complainant on East Fifth Street saw their neighbors had a small fire in a fire pit in their backyard. Dispatch advised Lind Fire Department. Complainant was concerned there was a fire due to the dry weather. Deputy Klewin checked the area and did not see any fires.

July 27, 8:06 p.m. – A Ritzville complainant on North Anderson Road stated their landlords were harassing them. There was a recent anti-harassment order where the complainant was the respondent and the landlord was the petitioner. Both parties were claiming to being harassed by the other. Deputy Klewin advised both parties this was a civil matter. The petitioner requested a standby for peace for the date the tenants were to move out.

July 28, 12:46 a.m. – An alarm company advised of a motion detector trip in the bathroom area of Jim’s Empire Market. All the doors and windrows were secure with no sign of entry. The responsible party was contacted and advised.

July 28, 7:43 a.m. –

Deputy Lane located a cow loose at East Danekas and Schoessler roads and put it back in the pasture.

July 28, 7:46 a.m. – A Washtucna complainant advised of someone driving through newly planted flowers on North Main Street and East Avenue.

July 28, 9:54 a.m. – A Ritzville complainant advised of cows in the area of East Lind-Ralston Road, eastbound from Highway 395. When Deputy Lane arrived on the scene, a subject had arrived and confined the cows.

July 28, 10:06 a.m. –

Malicious mischief was reported on North Cow Creek Road at the railroad tunnel.

July 28, 1:44 p.m. – A Ritzville complainant advised of cars speeding through the new chip sealed road at East Danekas and East Schoessler roads.

July 28, 4:26 p.m. – Deputy Lane assisted the Ritzville Fire Department with traffic control in the area of North Seivers Road.

July 29, 7:19 p.m. – A Lind complainant advised of an ongoing issue with speeding wheat trucks and semis through South Van Marter Avenue.

July 29, 11:20 a.m. – A Ritzville complainant contacted dispatch to report cattle in the roadway at East Highway 21 and East Lind-Ralston Road. The cattle were found and relocated cattle to a nearby pasture area. Dispatch contacted the cattle’s owner.

July 29, 5:16 p.m. – A Washtucna complainant advised a subject was racing his car on Main Street. The subject said he was not driving at high speeds and the vehicle had parts that made it louder than normal. Another complainant said she believed the vehicle was doing 65 mph in a 25 mph zone.

July 30, 12:54 p.m. –

A Lind complainant requested a welfare check of a juvenile on Eighth Street after unsuccessful prearranged custody transfer. Deputy Daryl Barnes advised the subject and learned the parent and juvenile were out camping.
