  • President forces involuntary contributions

Many Americans were stunned and some offended to learn recently citizens of the United States are obligated by law to pay for the “contraceptive rights” of women. Individual citizens will not get a bill in the mail, but anything one citizen has a right to receive, other citizens have an obligation to provide. A single individual, President Obama, gave the order through subordinates making clear contraceptive rights of women were to be provided at no cost. It is not certain that the president’s order can or will be rever...

  • Obama has harmed the middle class

    Updated Sep 27, 2012

I am a retired handicapped educator who votes independently. I am considered to be middle-class. Therefore, I must vote for Romney-Ryan, as President Obama has done enormous harm to middle-class households. Obama signed his stimulus-spending bill in January 2009, when the median household income was $54,983. By June 2012, it had tumbled to $50,964, adjusted for inflation. That is $4,019 in lost real income. Even if you start the analysis in June 2009, when the recession ended the median household income is $2.544 or nearly...

  • Support levy because it’s the right thing to do

    Updated Sep 27, 2012

I have been reading for several weeks now the issue surrounding Project 56. My perspective that it is trivial comes from someone who currently lives within a few miles of the fifth largest city in our nation. I came from an even smaller school in the bi-county before my parents retired and specifically chose Ritzville, for my siste...

  • Defense’s last stand gives Broncos OT victory

    Stephen McFadden|Updated Sep 27, 2012

The Broncos defense insured a homecoming night victory when they halted a Tri-Cities Prep (TCP) two-point conversion attempt in overtime, giving LRS a 21-20 win. In the last nonleague outing of the season, the Broncos (3-0) struggled with too many turnovers and lost scoring opportunities on offense.
