Flynn resigns from Ritzville School Board

Shannon Flynn announced her resignation as Board of Director from the Ritzville School Board during the regular meeting on Monday, Aug. 27. Flynn served as the Ritzville School Board chairman in 2010 and made the decision to resign for personal reasons.

In a statement Flynn read during the Lind and Ritzville School Board meeting, she stated, “I have appreciated the opportunity to serve the community and the kids of Ritzville over the last few years. The changes occurring in the district are extremely exciting.

“You have an amazing school district with incredible leadership. I invite you to embrace your leaders and assist them into continuing to make the Ritzville School District in cooperation with the Lind school district the most incredible rural education system. It has the potential to be cutting edge in the state.”

The Ritzville School Board is currently accepting applications from citizens interested in filling the position that are registered voters within District No. 4. The board has 90 days to appoint a new candidate and need to fill the position by November.
