Fulton’s family has a long association with this milling system. The Unifine Milling system, developed at Washington State University (WSU) in the 1940s, is a revolutionary style of milling. • Thanks

    Dale Anderson|Updated Nov 26, 2015

Another year is rapidly coming to an end. Thanksgiving will be followed by Christmas specials with bowl games coming up sooner than we would like to think. For me personally, I’m thankful for a lot of things. I’m very thankful for my wife who takes good care of me. I don’t think I say that nearly enough. But after 36 years together I may be taking it for granted but since I still make her laugh maybe I’m worthy! I’m thankful for a great job at a great company. 15 years has...

Hannah Hille Thanksgiving means so many memories! For...

Emma Aldrich, LRHS Student Correspondent|Updated Nov 26, 2015

Meditation has long been practiced by followers of the Buddhist religion, but not until recently has it been recognized for its cognitive benefits. Research supports that mindful meditation improves memory, correlated to development in areas throughout the brain. While many students at LRHS have study methods that work for them, meditation could be a valuable tool in improving their memory retention. Meditation is essentially an exercise for the mind, aimed towards making the brain more efficient. In an article from the...

  • Terror attacks demand response to keep U.S citizens safe

    Updated Nov 26, 2015

The world was horrified by the cowardly terror attacks in Paris that killed numerous innocent people and left many wounded at entertainment venues and restaurants, in what many now regard as France’s “September 11th.” France is the United States’ oldest ally—the first nation to support our fight for independence. As France has been there when we have faced challenges, we must now be there for the French people. While we mourn together now, we must also unite and stand against global terrorism. Sadly, the incidents of terror...

  • Presidential travel, China style

    Don C. Brunell, Business Commentator|Updated Nov 26, 2015

When China’s President Xi Jinping flew into Seattle last September, his presidential airliner looked like any other Air China 747-400 passenger jet. That is because it was. The Chinese have a different approach to flying their leaders. Its Air Force owns a small fleet of 737s to shuttle dignitaries on short hauls, but they contract with independently owned Air China for extended overseas missions. In the United States, our government leaders exclusively fly military aircraft, many of which made by Boeing in Washington s...
