    The Adams County Courthouse has announced two offices will close next Wednesday afternoon to attend services for the Honorable Judge Brian H. Miller, who died on Sept. 28. The Adams County Superior Court Clerk, and the Adams County Superior Court Administrator’s offices in Ritzville, will close at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 23.     Adams County has been awarded federal funds made available through the Department of Homeland Security (Federal Emergency Management Agency) under the Emergency Food and Shelter National Board Program.     Ritzville City Council will conduct a public hearing on its 2014 preliminary budget and the proposed taxes and fees for next year on Tuesday, Nov. 19.     As strategic blasting of the thick concrete foundation began Tuesday, the Ritzville City Council weighed its options for the removal of the debris. Ultimately the council voted unanimously to pay Eastside Wood Recycling up to $35,000 to remove the debris and haul in clean fill dirt to backfill the massive hole left from the demolition of the building.     The Ritzville City Council unanimously approved a petition for annexation submitted by the Love’s Corporation Tuesday. The petition launches a lengthy legal process where the 12 acres will become part of the Ritzville city limits. The request includes the ground not owned by Love’s between its property and the current city limits. That ground encompasses a portion of Interstate 90.     Dennis and Mary Chamberlin have officially purchased the downtown building that previously housed Wild Flowers Quilt Shop and Liquor Store. The couple is working to open two businesses out of the local shop: a retail store and a small craft distillery.     Following the death of Adams County Judge Brian Miller, an interim judge has been selected to fill the bench until the governor can appoint a new judge.
