Adams County EFSB meeting announced

Adams County has been awarded federal funds made available through the Department of Homeland Security (Federal Emergency Management Agency) under the Emergency Food and Shelter National Board Program.

Adams County has been allocated $7,839 to supplement emergency food and shelter programs in the county.

The Adams County Emergency Food and Shelter Board, comprised of governmental and non-governmental leaders, are meeting on Wednesday, Oct. 30, at 9:30 a.m. at McDonald’s Restaurant in Othello to determine eligible agencies and amount of award to each selected agency. McDonald’s is located at 445 East Main Street in Othello.

Public or private voluntary agencies interested in applying for EFSP funds are asked to contact Chair, Bob Luhn at 509-488-5896 or in person at 835 South Tenth in Othello, no later than Monday, Oct. 28, for an application form. Luhn has a list of qualifications an agency must meet in order to be considered for a grant.
