  • How much?

    Dale Anderson, Contributor|Updated Sep 19, 2022

I’m the kind of guy that enjoys sports and I appreciate the athleticism that is displayed. There is a lot of time and effort that goes into a successful athlete and team. It isn’t just talent that makes a great player. There is also a great deal of mental toughness as well. The investment an athlete makes to improve their strength, size and speed can pay dividends in the long run. For most of us older folks we weren’t fortunate enough to have much of a weight room or even...

Today’s conundrum is to overcome the city’s growing wave of crime and illicit drug trafficking. • Letters to the Editor

    Updated Sep 19, 2022

Col. Wright’s name correctly removed I have objected to the changes of creek names and the defacing of the Whitman statue at the college and removing the statue from the Capitol. It is a sign of the times and rebellious, ill-educated, disrespectful children growing into adults. However, I think Publisher Roger Harnack’s recent column was short-sighted in his summary of the hanging of Qualchan. Col. Wright was wrong (to quote the name of a book.) Qualchan came into Wright’s camp under a flag of truce because he believed his f...

All county governments cannot claim such a positive audit result. For example, the state auditor’s o...

  • 'City girl' remains at helm of Ritzville Drug

    Dale Brown, The Journal|Updated Sep 19, 2022

RITZVILLE – Eight years ago pharmacist Corrina Gray resisted her father's entreaties. He goaded her to leave Spokane and take the reins of Ritzville Drug. But she considered herself a "city girl." Years prior, she and her father, Sam Duncan, discussed going into business together. "We talked about buying a little 'mom and pop' somewhere," she said. "But he went off on his own and picked Ritzville. I didn't have any say." Born in Santa Clara, California, Gray grew up in San J...
