    The Town of Lind is set to host hundreds of visitors this weekend for the 29th Annual Lind Derby Extravaganza Weekend. The annual event kicks off entertainment on Friday night with car and pickup races, before hosting a slew of events on Saturday at the Lind Lions Club Arena.   • Pancake breakfast Friday

    The H.E. Gritman Senior Center will host its pancake breakfast on Friday, June 10, from 7:30 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. This is the last pancake breakfast until September. Breakfast will feature pancakes, a choice of ham or sausage, juice and coffee with a suggested donation of $5 per person. The breakfast serves as a fundraiser for the senior center and is held the second Friday of every month, except during the summer. The H.E.     Members from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints are inviting all local ladies to participate in a service project on Tuesday, June 14, from 6-8 p.m. at the Ritzville Memorial Cemetery.     The first class of students to attend all four years in the cooperative of Lind-Ritzville High School received recognition for their achievements during the graduation ceremony on June 4 in Gilson Gymnasium.     Frances M. Manke, 94, died June 4 at Claire Bridge (Brookdale Assisted Living) in Spokane. Frances and her twin sister, Virginia, were born in Ritzville, on March 19, 1922, to Conrad and Katie (Becker) Hein. She attended Odessa, Ritzville and Harrington grade schools and graduated from Harrington High School in 1941. Frances married Harold Manke on Nov. 19, 1944.
