    On Saturday, May 21, Lind-Ritzville seventh through twelfth grade Marching Band performed in the Spokane Lilac Festival Armed Forces Torchlight Parade. The band earned the Gold Standard Award for the first time in the history of their participation in the parade.     The Lind-Ritzville/Sprague fastpitch softball team’s post-season ended on Tuesday, May 24, in the Regional Tournament. The placing for the Regional Tournament took place on May 17 in Spokane at the Merkel Fields. The Lady Broncos took on Northwest Christian for their first match up of the day.   • Art on the Plaza returns to Ritzville

    Historic downtown Ritzville is serving as the host for the annual Art on the Plaza event on May 27-29. Local artists are joining with fellow art masters from throughout the region to put on a high quality event for visitors and residents alike.     Suzanne Lee Lefevre, 53, died on May 14, in Spokane, as the result of an automobile accident. She was born on July 26, 1962, in Ritzville, to Pete and Marjorie (Oestreich) Lefevre where she graduated from Ritzville High School in 1980. After high school she attended Eastern Washington University where she received a Bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems.     Caring Neighbors, a non-profit entity established by Big Bend Electric Co-op, recently donated $1,000 to the Washtucna Public Development Authority. The money will be used for paint, trees, perennial plants, drip line hoses, building materials and art supplies in the Washtucna in Bloom Project.
