    The Ritzville Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 2739 ladies auxiliary are hosting an event to benefit the American Heart Association (AHA).     In coordination with National FFA Week, the Lind-Ritzville FFA is completing their annual Ronald McDonald House drive from Feb. 19 through Feb. 26. There will be boxes at multiple local businesses during this week for item collection.     The Ritzville City Council met for their regularly scheduled meeting on Feb. 2 at 7 p.m. The meeting began by discussing changes to the regular agenda to streamline the meeting and encourage more attendance from community members. The agenda will now include all of the reoccurring approvals, which takes place at the beginning of each meeting.     The Feb. 9 Special Election showed countywide support for school district’s Maintenance and Operation (M&O) levies, but the Ritzville School District bond results had a different outcome.     The Bronco wrestling squad traveled to Liberty for the South League Tournament on Saturday, Feb. 6, where they fought for their spots in the Regional Tournament.     Alfred Wiest, 96, died on Wednesday morning Feb. 3 following a short illness. Alfred was born May 15, 1919, in Kurudschika, Bessarabia (Romania), the eldest of six children born to Michael and Mary (Grams) Wiest. At age six the family moved to Brazil, and 2.5 years later settled in Ralston. Alfred graduated in 1941 from Ritzville High School. Alfred saw action in WWII in the Battle of the Bulge.
