Three vie for Distinguished Young Woman title March 20: Hallie Jo Galbreath

The annual Distinguished Young Woman program is rolling into Ritzville once again, bound to take place on March 20 starting at 7 p.m.

Three junior girls are participating in the program and competing for the title this year.

The event is being held in a new location: at the Ritz Theatre.

Presale tickets are currently available for $5, or can be bought at the door for $6 the night of the event.

Tickets can be purchased from Stacey Schoessler at Northwest Farm Credit, Jan Marshall at Ritzville City Hall, or from any contestant.

This year’s contestants are Holly Nygren, Samantha Asmussen and Hallie Jo Galbreath.

Hallie Jo Galbreath

Hallie Jo Galbreath is the daughter of Greg Galbreath and Connie Galbreath, and she has two older brothers.

Her activities include FFA, Today’s Generation Jazz Dance Club, and Staying Alive Youth Group. She is also a member of the Honor Society and the high school cheerleading squad.

Her involvement in FFA has given Hallie many opportunities to serve.

She has offered her services at the local food bank, served as FFA Secretary, and volunteered at the Ronald McDonald House.

Hallie also serves as a Relay For Life volunteer.

Hallie has been successful in many dance competitions and FFA events including taking fourth place for her Marketing Presentation in the National competition and scoring first Production at the Spotlight Dance National competition.

Hallie also enjoys hiking, camping, reading and lifting weights.

Her favorite musician is Dustin Lynch, and her favorite movie is To Save a Life.

Hallie’s favorite novel is “Heaven is for Real” by Todd Burpo and her favorite play is Hairspray.

Hallie would like to attend Washington State University and major in Ag Economics and minor in Animal Sciences after high school.
