    The date of the H.E. Gritman Senior Center’s Christmas dinner has been changed from Monday, Dec. 21, to Wednesday, Dec. 23. On Monday, the senior center will serve hamburger soup. Christmas dinner will be beef, baked potatoes, Christmas fruited Jell-o salad and white Christmas pie. Regular services will resume on Jan. 4.   • Lind Town Council approves 2016 budget

    After two Public Hearings, the Lind Town Council approved the 2016 budget for the Town of Lind on Tuesday, Dec. 8. For the year of 2015 the budget expected $212,773.85 in revenue and for 2016 their expected revenue is set at $268,880. This is mostly due to the beginning cash, which is roughly $45,000 more than in 2015 and because of the taxes for the city, which will bring in over $10,000 more than the year prior.     Empire Health Foundation’s Rural Aging Responsive Grant Cycle is designed to provide funding for a broad range of one-time projects designed to help adults age 60 and over live full, meaningful lives with independence and dignity. Nonprofits looking to implement programs serving seniors in Adams County can apply. The H.E. Gritman Senior Center received operational support from the grant in 2015 for a total of $9,900.     On Sunday, Dec. 6, Lind held their annual Christmas Parade beginning with a chili feed and pictures with Santa. A key part to the parade are the floats community members design and drive for the crowd to enjoy at 5:30 p.m. In first place this year was Tyran Doyle and Friends with their Santa on the Farm float.     Dennis Schilling, Superintendent of CF Industries presented a check to 14 Lind-Ritzville teachers through CF Industries’ Classroom Mini-Grant Program.     Marvin Louis Miller, 88, died on Nov. 26 at From the Heart in Pasco. He was born on Oct. 6, 1927, the fifth of nine children, to Alta (Odgers) Miller and Shirley R. Miller at the family home in Davenport. In December 1932, the family moved to Connell, where his dad operated a grocery store.     The Lind-Ritzville/Sprague wrestling squad had their first busy week of the season last week. It began with weight certifications on Thursday where each wrestler received their weight class for the tournament the following Saturday.
