    At the age of 100, Ritzville said good-bye to beloved resident Alma Galbreath last Friday. As an instrumental and respected figure, Alma has lived in the community all her life. She served multiple appointments, including roles on the Big Bend Community College Board of Directors, as well as the BBCC Foundation Board.   • Shop With a Cop slated for Saturday

    The annual Shop With a Cop event begins at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 13, at the Ritzville Area Chamber of Commerce office. Law enforcement personnel will partner up with the young shoppers and head out for shopping at area businesses. After completing the shopping excursion, the group moves to Umpqua Bank for gift wrapping, hot chocolate and cookies.   • Ritzville Council allocates 110 Funds

    At the Nov. 18 meeting of the Ritzville City Council, members voted to approve the allocation of the city’s 110 Funds for the 2015-year. This year’s requests for funds totaled $118,625. The council voted to approve allocations of $73,500 out of the total requests with $5,000 kept in reserve to cover the expense of re-installing the metal structures that were removed during work on the intersection at the entrance to the city.
