Canada is third, with 152 billion and Iran is fourth with 139 billion cubic meters. However, when it comes to proven reserves that determine the future, the picture is quite different! The world’s total known res... Full story

  • Some questions about the impact of new truck stop

    Updated Dec 6, 2012

The need for growth, new industry for the Ritzville community has been quite evident for many years, but Love’s is not the answer. Love’s will not “create new jobs.” People will only shift from an existing, already strapped employer, to Love’s. Or, will Love’s be bringing in 65-75 new families to Ritzville? Love’s is an exact copy of many businesses already in Ritzville, i.e. gas station, c-store, and fast food. Is Love’s bringing something new to offer to the entire community, or just more competition in an already struggl...

  • Broncos did an awesome job

    Updated Dec 6, 2012

I would like to congratulate our football coaches for a job well done. Missing three starters on the line and then going out and beating four teams that were in the top six in the state is unbelievable. Inserting freshmen to take the spot of the three injured players, and these kids really did a good job, shows how good our coaches are. Our team really stuck together, rather than give up because of the injured players not being able to play. Our team listened to the coaches, believed in them and went on to win the State B...

  • To the Victors Goes the Gold Ball...

    Dale Anderson|Updated Dec 6, 2012

I’ve wanted to write about the Bronco football team for a few weeks now, but like all true sports fans, I was afraid that I might bring bad luck to these guys. Superstitious? Well maybe a little. But I didn’t want to see a good thing come to an end and wonder if bragging a bit might cut short a storybook season. Since our young heroes of the Bronco gridiron have brought home a first place trophy, I can finally say what I feel about this group of young men. Anytime a team can... Full story

Our lovely niece Avia and her dashing husband Alan are about to be blessed with their first child. Annie Faith Thompson is about to meet all those people who rejoiced at the announcement of her mom’s pregnancy, were awestruck at the miracle of the child growing in the womb, and whose hands have gently and patiently lay atop her mommy’s swollen belly in order to feel the bumps and glides as she gyrated away her hours in vitro. There isn’t a whole lot else to do during months five through birth other than suck a thumb and s... Full story

  • AMAZING Community Support

Robert Roettger - Superintendent of Lind, Ritzville Schools|Updated Dec 6, 2012

I feel extremely fortunate to work for two communities that support their children and schools as much as Lind and Ritzville do. I could go on and on with pages of examples related to the type of support our communities provide to our students and school systems.
