    DAVENPORT – Here are the preliminary results of the Nov. 5 general election for Lincoln County. Late-arriving votes had yet to be counted as of press time. The tally for the 13th Legislative District race, car-tab cap Initiative 976, affirmative action measure Referendum 88, the constitutional amendment and advisory votes represent the preliminary count only for Lincoln County.     Ritzville Mayor Gary Cook is on his way to being re-elected to a second term as Ritzville’s mayor on Tuesday night, currently receiving 77.78% of the vote against challenger David Ahrens. The race was the only contested matchup on the 2019 general election ballot in eastern Adams County. As of 9:15 p.m. on Nov. 5, 225 votes have been counted in the mayoral race. Cook has received 175 of those votes, while Ahrens has received 50 votes. It is unclear exactly how many votes remain to be counted for the mayoral race. Turnout i...

In the girls varsity race dominated by Kettle Falls--who had three of the top-four finishes--Schafer finished No. 6 in 21:39.2.     Over $7,300 was raised during the Washtucna Heritage Museum Fundraiser that was held on Oct. 12, according to event organizers. The event was attended by more than 100 people and included a silent auction as well as an extra “Bargain Basement” event. The Baron of Beef meal was cooked by Jeff Miller, and live entertainment was provided by the Old Guys, a Ritzville band.
