LRS head coach Morgan Hunt said finishing all-league was a goal for Schafer. She also said she was pleased how the race finished for her whole team.

“The course in Harrington is always a tough course to run on, but my kids took it as a challenge and did wonderful,” Hunt said. “The amount of determination and mental focus was outstanding this week in Harrington. I saw some great racing strategies, positive attitudes, and overall great performances from all of my runners.”

On the boys side, Hunt was particularly pleased with the performance of Caleb Heater.

“Caleb had a big [personal record] this week and with the course being as tough as it was, it was great to see,” Hunt said. “He is truly focused and determined to continue to [get personal records] throughout the season.”

Heater finished in 85th place with a time of 21:57.93. Eli Michels led the way for LRS finishing 54th in 19:51.66.
