    The Lind-Ritzville/Sprague Broncos baseball team ended their 2018 season on May 1 in first round of the District 7 2B League Tournament. The Broncos lost to Springdale, 2-0, in a game that lasted nine innings. The Lady Broncos began their six-game streak on May 1 with a sweep over Reardan in a Northeast 2B League South doubleheader, winning 22-3 and 16-4.   • Lind Town Council applies for grant to support airport repairs

    During the April 24 meeting, the Lind Town Council approved a resolution supporting and authorizing the Town to submit an Airport Aid grant application to the Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) Aviation Division. The Airport Aid grant would help the Town acquire matching funds for a Federal Management Emergency Agency (FEMA) grant to repair damaged pavement for the Lind Airport.     Residents can expect to see crews begin rehabilitation work on First Avenue during the month of May. The project, designated the First Street Rehabilitation project by the Washington State Transportation Improvement Board (TIB), will consist of rehabilitating segments of First Avenue from Cascade Street to the east city limits.     Moses Lake’s Oscar Garcia wants to bring drag racing to the City of Ritzville. Garcia spoke at the April 17 Ritzville City Council meeting to gauge interest about potentially holding a drag racing event at the Ritzville Municipal Airport in the future, as well as answer any questions from the Council regarding the operation.     Terry Thompson will fill the vacant Commissioner District No. 3 position on the Adams County Board of Commissioners.     The Town of Lind took another step in the beginning stages of the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) road improvement work. During the March 27 meeting, Century West Engineering Project Manager Steve Nelson informed the Lind Town Council the company received bids from six contractors for the first phase of the FEMA road improvement project.
