Power restored after outage

Snow, ice brought down line across Adams County

RITZVILLE — Power had been restored across Adams County after snow and ice building knocked down lines Friday, Dec. 9.

Power outages started rolling in with a winter storm hitting early in the day. The power remained out to much of the county Saturday morning, but has since been restored.

Utility officials said the power outage affected Hatton, Lind, Ritzville, Warden and Washtucna. Power outages were also reported in rural Franklin County near Connell.

“Due to heavy front on the power lines, we are experiencing multiple outages and lines down,” the cooperative said on social media. “ Our crews are working as quickly as possible to restore power.”

The utility reported Friday that it’s after-hours answering service was “overloaded with calls.”

As of 7:30 a.m. Saturday, the utility reported it still had many areas to repair.

“Additional contract crews have been called in to assist. Linemen continue to work to get power restored as soon as possible,” the utility reported. “We do not have any restoration time estimates but are hoping to get power restored sometime today.”
