Bronco girls remain unbeaten

RITZVILLE – The Lind-Ritzville/Sprague/Washtucna/Harrington girls volleyball team remained unbeaten after sweeping the Columbia (Burbank) Coyotes and Asotin Panthers last week.

On Saturday, Sept. 17, the Bronco girls (3-0) topped visiting Asotin (3-3) in three straight sets.

Set scores were 25-13, 25-9 and 25-14.

Taylor Galbreath had 11 kills and five aces and five digs in the non-league matchup.

Galbreath also helped the local girls to victory Sept. 14 in three straight sets over the winless Columbia (Burbank) Coyotes (0-4).

The Broncos won that matchup with set scores of 25-10, 25-5 and 25-18.

Megan Melcher served for 14 aces and logged three digs to lead the Bronco girls over the Coyotes. Taylor Galbreath added seven kills.

This week, the Broncos volleyball team were scheduled to travel to play the Jenkins (Chewelah) Cougars at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 20. The results of that game were not available by press time.

On Thursday, the Broncos will travel to Pasco to play the Tri-Cities Prep Jaguars at 6:30 p.m.
