Pedestrian killed in hit-and-run on Hwy 24

OTHELLO – The Washington State Patrol is looking for information on hit-and-run incident that left a pedestrian dead.

The victim remains unknown, as does the driver of an unknown vehicle.

According to the state patrol, the crash occurred at 12:30 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 18, near Milepost 79 of state Highway 24.

A westbound vehicle struck a westbound pedestrian, the patrol reported. The driver of the unidentified vehicle then fled the scene westbound on the highway.

Emergency responders arriving on scene found a deceased man, the patrol reported.

Troopers have yet to identify the victim.

Troopers said they also have yet to identify the type of vehicle that struck the man, as well as the driver of the vehicle.
