RITZVILLE – A local Sheriff's Office employee and emergency dispatcher died on the job last week.

Kevin Swartz, a 48-year-old 911 dispatcher and records clerk, experienced a medical emergency while on duty at the Adams County Sheriff's Office on Tuesday, Oct. 12, officials said. He was transported to East Adams Rural Hospital, where he died.

"Our hearts, thoughts and prayers are with his family," a Sheriff's Office post on social media said. "This is a difficult loss to our team and our community. Kevin was a dedicated public servant. He will be greatly missed."
