Power restored to Ritzville area

Avista resolves outages

LIND — Avista customers in Lind, Ritzville and Washtucna were brought back in service after an early morning outage Thursday, July 9.

David Vowels said approximately 1800 customers lost power just before 2 a.m., due to substation equipment failure at the Lind substation.

Ritzville customers had their power back on at 3:40 a.m.

"A lot of times when we have outages, we are able to restore power to our customers sooner, due to redundancies built into our electrical system," Vowel said. "The equipment has since been replaced."

Vowels said customers in Lind had their power back on around 7:30 a.m., but Washtucna customers had to wait until the equipment was replaced before their power was restored, about 9:30 a.m.

Customers experiencing power outages can report them at myavista.com or by calling 800 227 9187.

Vowels said an outage map is available to view on the Avista website.
