Library closes to public

Curbside service offered in Ritzville

RITZVILLE — East Adams Library District closed library branches in Benge, Lind, Ritzville and Washtucna to the public last week, but

but will be providing curbside service at the Ritzville branch.

Patrons can request items by calling the library at 509 659 1222, emailing library staff at [email protected] or placing a hold through the online catalog at http://www.eastadamslibrary.org/catalog. Library staff will schedule pick-up times with patrons once their items are ready.

"Other options may be available for patrons in the other communities we serve or for anyone unable to come to the Ritzville branch for whatever reason," Director Kylie Fullmer said, suggesting patrons contact the branches for more information.

While the library is closed to the public, it will continue to offer limited services like printing, scanning, faxing and copying to the general public. Anyone who needs the services can contact the library to schedule an appointment.

"Our free public Wi-Fi is also available for anyone to use outside our Ritzville branch," Fullmer said. "We ask that anyone using this service please remember to practice safe social distancing."

One services are always available to anyone with a library card, and include checking out ebooks and audiobooks through the Anytime Libary online, taking a free online class, or accessing free homework help resources. Visit the library's website for more information, and contact the library if you need your library card number or personal identification number to sign on.

Library cards are free to area residents.

The closure is expected to remain in effect until at least Sunday, April 26, with due dates extended to April 27. Books drops in Ritzville and Washtucna will still be open for returns, or the items can be kept through the closure.

Staff will continue to work during the closure.

The limited services will be suspended if a shelter-in-place notice goes into effect.
