Brief: Clarification from last week's issue of The Journal

In The Journal’s Dec. 26 article, “Shop With A Cop: Making spirits rise,” the story should have clarified that the Ritzville Volunteer Fire Department, not the Ritzville Fire Department, received a $1,000 grant from the Holiday Kids’ Tree Project, which is sponsored by the Association of Washington Business.

The RVFD was nominated for the grant by the Ritzville Area Chamber of Commerce. The RVFD applied for and received the grant as a nonprofit organization, and the RVFD members then voted to donate the funds to the Shop With A Cop program....
