Brief: Hatton currently without water, according to mayor

The Town of Hatton is currently without water, according to an update provided by interim mayor Brittany Baldwin.

The pump for Hatton’s well was rendered inoperable earlier this week, and the town’s secondary well isn’t currently functioning.

Baldwin told The Journal that the motor for the primary well’s pump is currently being worked on at an irrigation specialty shop in Othello, and that the issue should be fixed in the next couple of days.

Baldwin and others have been delivering cases of water to the residents of the town for the past several days. She said she is proud of the residents for how they have reacted and responded to the adversity.
