Friends of the Library Book Sale features new twists

The Friends of the Library Book Sale will take place at the Ritzville Public Library (above) on March 15 and 16. The book sale will be open from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday, and from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday. Raffle tickets for a basket of items valued at $220 can also be bought at the book sale.

Some opportunities occur only once a lifetime; others occur annually.

One of the annual ones happens this weekend – at Ritzville's Carnegie Library. With eight years of experience, the Friends of the Library (FOL) sponsor their annual Book Sale in the conference room in the Library's basement. An elevator entrance on the building's side gives easy access to disabled or tired legs.

Items for sale come from Library's discarded books and from donations. But this is no ordinary "sale." Yes, you do have to pay money. But sale price is $5 for a whole bag of books (think plastic grocery-type b...
