Lind-Ritzville FFA members make plans for upcoming year

The Lind-Ritzville FFA Chapter is excited as a new year of competitions and activities are approaching. We have already had many of our members participate in activities at the Wheat Land Communities’ Fair that was held in Ritzville on Labor Day weekend.

These events included the livestock show and working in the FFA Burger Booth.

Thank you to everyone who helped us in the burger booth and to all who came and gave us a visit during fair.

We recently took a group of members to the Othello Fair for Livestock Judging in which they were very successful. Currently, we have members preparing for Land Evaluation contests.

Also, our Agronomy team, consisting of Devin Schafer, Julia Klein, Abby Gering, and Alibama Rushing, are preparing to head off to Nationals at the end of the month and we are beyond excited to cheer them on!

This year we have started a Star Member of the Week program.

Each week we will pick a member from our chapter and recognize them on our social media accounts. This may be a member who volunteers, participates, and dedicates their time and effort in order to be successful in our chapter.

Our Star Members so far have been Amy Anderson, Garrett Frederick, Grace Greenwalt and Thomas Rosen.

If you would like to know what these wonderful members participate in and why they were picked please go to our Facebook account (Lind-Ritzville FFA Chapter) or our Instagram account (lindritzvilleffa).

We hosted a Chapter barbecue at the Ritzville Park on Sept. 17. We played some fun team-building games and got to learn about upcoming events within our chapter.

Our FFA officer team attended the District 9 Evergreen Tour in Quincy on Sept. 25. This was one of nine stops on the tour put on each year by the state officer team.

We learned a lot in the workshops hosted by the state officers and also enjoyed interacting with others within Washington District 9 FFA.

We are excited to bring back the skills we learned from this leadership conference to our own FFA chapter and our community.

We are super excited for a year full of fun memories and success! We greatly appreciate all the support and help that we receive from the community.
