Ritzville resident injured in motorcycle versus deer collision - Fundraiser dinner, auction Aug. 5

Randy Lawson of Ritzville was critically injured on July 14, following a collision with a deer.

According to a Washington State Patrol (WSP) report, Lawson was driving his 2004 Yamaha motorcycle when he hit a deer on southbound U.S. Route 395, five miles south of Ritzville.

Ritzville Fire Department, Ritzville EMTs and WSP responded to the scene to assist with traffic control and transport.

Lawson, 57, was transported by Life Flight to Sacred Heart Medical Center around 11 p.m.

The southbound right lane of travel was blocked for nearly five hours, WSP reported.

The Ritzville Pastime will be holding a fundraiser dinner and auction for Lawson on Aug. 5 at 2 p.m. Lawson works as a cook at The Pastime.

A donation jar is also available inside of The Pastime during business hours.
