WSMC Region 1 Math contest results

Several Lind-Ritzville High School students competed at the Washington State Math Council (WMSC) Region 1 contest at Eastern Washington University on March 7.

Ellie Gering, Shontz Yaeger and Julia Klein won the Team Problem event. Bryce Kelly, Grace St. John and Grace Greenwalt were second in the event. Drew Kelly, Eliza Galbreath and Jacob Miller placed third.

Erica Haynes, Brinley Moore and Klein were first in the Topical Team Problem category. Devin Schafer, Gering and Linnea Schafer were second in the event. Sophie Smart and Austin Hall placed third.

Taelor Umland won the Distinguished Sophomore Award while Michael Brownlove was selected for the Distinguished Freshman Award.

All of the students qualified for the WMSC State contest on April 21 at Central Washington University.
