Ritzville Fire assists in skydiver rescue

The Adams County Fire Protection District No. 1 and Ritzville EMTs responded to call at West Plains Skydiving on Oct. 15.

Adams County Fire Protection District No. 1 Chief Scott Kembel said the department received a call at 2:28 p.m. about a diver who missed the landing zone and ended up on the roof of a hanger. The department sent two vehicles with seven firefighters to the scene. Firefighters brought the diver from the roof to the ground and set up a landing zone for Life Flight. The diver was transported to a hospital.

Kembel said crews were at the scene for a couple of hours.
