Five teachers join Lind-Ritzville Cooperative Schools staff: Kate Gantz

Five new full-time teachers joined the ranks of Lind-Ritzville Cooperative Schools this year.

Charlie Moffet, Kate Gantz and Morgan Walker currently teach at Ritzville Grade School. Allyssa Barnett joined the staff at Lind Elementary School and Christina Heater was hired at Lind-Ritzville Middle School.

Kate Gantz, who teaches second-grade grew in Eagan, Minnesota. After high school, she attended Concordia University in St. Paul where she acquired her degree in music education, then went to St. Cloud State College and earned her elementary education degree.

Before she was hired at Ritzville Grade School, Gantz was a substitute teacher in the Medical Lake, Nine Mile Falls and Spokane school districts. She was also involved with the City of Spokane’s summer parks and recreation programs.

Gantz said she became a teacher because she loves working with children and enjoys helping others. She strives to give her students the love and support they need to succeed in class.

In her first year at Ritzville, Gantz wants to establish herself as a teacher while helping her students succeed in her classroom.

In her free time, Gantz enjoys hiking, kayaking and other outdoor activities, as well as playing with her chocolate lab, Bear.
