Ritzville Library plans activities at WLCF

The Ritzville Public Library will have several activities for this year’s Wheat Land Communities’ Fair.

Children who love to solve riddles can visit one of the Ritzville Public Library’s Escape Games, Thursday through Saturday, at the old sheep barn.

Similar to the popular Escape Rooms, players must solve puzzles in a set time limit to win the Escape Game.

There are Escape Games for different age groups.

The Johnny Appleseed Escape Game, grades K-2, is from noon to 1 p.m.

Farmer Fred’s Gloves Escape Game, grades 3-5, is from 2-3 p.m. and the Save the Garden Escape Game, grades 6-12, is from 4-5 p.m.

The library will have other activities during the fair.

On Thursday, children can play with a Zoob building kit from 1-2 p.m. and a Gears table from 3-4 p.m.

On Friday, children can play with Q-BA Maze kits from 1-2 p.m. and Snap Circuits from 3-4 p.m.

Saturday there will be Lincoln Logs from 1-2 p.m. and Makey Makey invention kits.

There will be ongoing activities like a sensory table, a pool and toys, coloring pages and temporary tattoos. The library will also have an informational booth at the fair.

September is Library Card Sign-up month.

Everyone who visits the library’s booth at the fair and signs up for a library card will be entered into a drawing for a Kindle Fire device.

The library will also be participating in the parade on Saturday morning. Children who are interested in participating in the parade must be signed up through the library.

Forms are available at the library or at http://ritzvillelibrary.com/library-parade-form.

There will be a limited amount of shirts available for the children participating in the parade, but the exact size for each child is not guaranteed.
