Oktoberfest at Good Hope Lutheran Oct. 23

The Good Hope Lutheran Church in Lind will host its annual Oktoberfest celebration on Sunday, Oct. 23, at the Lind Senior Center located at 117 North I Street.

Sunday Morning worship is at 9 a.m. at the Senior Center, under the leadership of Pastor Ginny Johnson. All are welcome to attend.

The Bake Sale will open at 11 a.m., and everyone is reminded to come early for the best choices.

Dinner begins at 11 a.m., and will continue until 2 p.m. Take-out meals are available for those unable to stay.

Featured is the ever-popular German smoked sausage, paired with mashed potatoes and butter, sauerkraut, green beans, applesauce and bread complemented with a dessert.

Prices are $9 for adults, children 12 and under are $5, family prices for two adults and two children are $25.

A drawing will be held; First prize will be a framed cross-stitch of Footprints in the Sand donated by Patti Bischoff.

The second, third and fourth prizes will be a choice of one: a “The Lord Bless You” throw, decorative milk can or a barn birdhouse all donated by Carla Bengtson.

The fifth prize will be 10 pounds of German sausage and the sixth will be painted plates with winter scenes.

Tickets are available from any member of the congregation or at the door the day of the event.

Everyone in congregation is involved in some capacity from setting up and serving to cleaning up afterwards and providing bake sale treats.

The congregation at Good Hope invites everyone to attend and enjoy a good meal and friendly conversation.
