Welcoming new teachers to local schools: Lind School District - Jeff Durham

A new face walks the halls of Lind Elementary School; Jeff Durham is the new fifth grade teacher at the school.

Originally from Toldeo, Durham is comfortable in a small town environment and is grateful for the opportunity to teach in the Lind community.

After graduating from high school, he attended Eastern Washington University (EWU) where he received a Bachelor of Arts in education and completed a mid-level math endorsement. He graduated from EWU in the spring of 2016.

When he is not teaching, Durham enjoys all outdoor activities and seeks adventure. He can be found fishing, hiking or playing sports during his days off he said.

Being new to the area, Durham explained he is looking forward to meeting new people and exploring the area. The people he has had the privilege of meeting so far have expressed their support and welcomed him into his new position he added.

Due to the generous amount of positivity he has received Durham said he is proud to have the opportunity to be a part of the community. Familiarizing himself with the locals and the Lind school community will be his mission for the year.

Assisting students in advancing their academic capabilities and maturity is his main focus for this school year. Durham explained his ultimate goal for the students is to encourage them in building self-confidence and advancing life skills necessary to succeed.
