AAUW to host book, bake sale

The Ritzville branch of the American Association of University Women will hold their annual used book and bake sale. The sale is held downtown at the corner of Main Avenue and Washington Street on Saturday, May 28, from 10 a.m. to approximately 4 p.m.

Used books will be sold for $1 each or fill a bag full for $5.

A variety of baked goods will also be offered for sale.

All proceeds from this sale will be used to fund two female middle school students who wish to attend Tech Trek at Eastern Washington University this summer.

This year Essence Holland and Grace Ste. Marie, both Lind-Ritzville seventh grade students, have been selected to attend.

They will participate in core classes, field trips and labs in the STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) curriculum with the goal of introducing and promoting career fields traditionally held by males.
