Crash claims the life of former Ritzville resident - Leaves two off-duty firefighters hospitalized

A two-vehicle collision in Spokane County claimed the life of 53-year-old Suzanne Lefevre, a former resident of Ritzville.

The collision also resulted in the hospitalization of Suzanne’s two brothers, Andrew and Lindsey.

The collision occurred around 4 p.m. on May 14 on State Route 291, five miles north of Spokane.

According to the Washington State Patrol (WSP) report, 19-year-old Spokane resident Tymofiy Bilous was driving a 2002 Toyota Rav4 when he crossed the centerline and struck the second vehicle, driven by Andrew, head on.

Bilous had a single passenger in his vehicle, 19-year-old Andriy Bilous, and both were airlifted to Sacred Heart Hospital in critical condition.

Andrew, 62, and Lindsey, 60, were both transported in serious condition to Deaconess Hospital. Suzanne was pronounced dead at the scene.

Both Andrew and Lindsey are volunteer firefighters for the Ritzville Fire Department.

Andrew and Lindsey remain hospitalized with various injuries at Deaconess Hospital. They are both expected to have a long recovery time before they are back in full health and regain full mobility.

According to the WSP report, all of the individuals involved in the collision were wearing seatbelts, and drugs and alcohol were not a factor.

The cause of the collision remains under investigation.
