Rollover collision on 395 injures two

Washington State Patrol (WSP) responded to a rollover collision on April 2 on southbound US Route 395, 10 miles south of Ritzville. WSP said the cause of the collision, which injured two people, was distracted driving.

The collision occurred just after 1:30 p.m., when Portland, Oregon, driver Kelly Williamson drifted off the roadway before overcorrecting and causing the vehicle to roll.

The 2001 Ford Escort came to rest off the roadway.

Williamson, 56, and Geraldine Speaks, 76, were both transported to East Adams Rural Hospital with injures.

According to WSP, both women were wearing seatbelts at the time of the collision.

Charges are currently pending, and drugs and alcohol were not involved, WSP said.
