Joanne Arlene Sipe Alderman

Joanne Arlene Sipe Alderman, 28, died in her home in Ritzville in the early morning of July 7 surrounded by loving family.

Joanne was born in Las Vegas, Nevada, on April 10, 1987, as the daughter of Russell and Victoria (Hall) Sipe.

She was raised in Aberdeen, Washington. Five years ago she moved to Ritzville with her son Hunter, and was married to Daniel Alderman on June 20, 2015.

In 2013, the explosive ball of sunshine known by her family and friends as Jo Jo, gave birth to her daughter Olivia.

With the gift of life, Jo Jo also received news of cancer.

After a valiant battle with the cancer for nearly two years, Jo Jo may now dance and spread her love and light without pain.

Jo Jo enjoyed bowling, swimming, dancing, camping, star gazing and storm watching in the back of a pickup. Frolicking barefoot while sassing her loved ones with sarcastic humor and she loved spending time with family and friends. There’s not a dark place in the world that couldn’t be brightened by Jo Jo’s optimism, strength and humor.

Her immeasurable strength and beauty will continue to shine over all and warm the hearts of those blessed to have shared in her life.

As always, wearing a smile Jo Jo demanded no tears be shed for her but instead dance among the positivity and sunshine in life.

Joanne is survived by her husband, Daniel Alderman, son, Hunter; daughter, Olivia; sister and brother-in-law, Collette (Benjamin) Witt; parents Russell and Victoria Sipe; and one nephew, Lyle.

A public memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. in the Ritzville City Park on Saturday, July 11.
