Ritzville Museums meeting May 12

The annual meeting of the Ritzville Museum Volunteers has been scheduled for Tuesday, May 12, at 11 a.m. at Memories Diner. A no-host luncheon immediately follows the meeting.

This year, the Dr. Frank R. Burroughs’ Home is celebrating it’s 125th anniversary. Several special events are being planned to commemorate the historic house and Ritzville’s heritage treasure. The details of these events are being announced at the May meeting, which serves as a kick-off for the museum volunteer’s year.

The museums are staffed by volunteers from Memorial Day weekend to Labor Day weekend. The hours of operations are noon to 4 p.m., at both the Depot and the Burroughs’ Home, from Tuesday through Saturday.

The 2015 president of the Museum Volunteers is Joanne McCrady. Anyone interesting in assisting as volunteers can contact Deann Becker at 660-0030 for working at the Depot Museum, or Nancy Burke at 659-4086 to volunteer at the Burroughs’ Home.

Volunteers also have an opportunity to sign up for shifts at the May meeting.
