Three-vehicle collision leaves two injured

Two people were injured after severe weather conditions caused multiple collisions on northbound State Route 395 on April 6.

The collision occurred five miles south of Lind, around 1 p.m.

According to the Washington State Patrol, the collision began when Eddylou Donovan left the roadway into the median, and then reentered the roadway striking a vehicle driven by Spokane resident Steve Johnson.

After the collision occurred, Paul Olkowski of Sonora, California, stopped to assist the drivers when an unknown vehicle struck him after he exited his vehicle. The unknown vehicle did not stop, and it remains under investigation.

Olkowski, 61, was transported to Sacred Heart Medical Center with injuries.

Donovan, 64, was transported to Sacred Heart Medical Center with injuries. Johnson was also transported to Spokane as a precaution, but did not sustain injuries.
