Ritzville Chamber accepting nominations for Community Awards in November

The Ritzville Area Chamber of Commerce will host its annual Community Recognition Night and Auction on Saturday, Nov. 8, at the C.J. Newland American Legion Memorial Hall.

The event serves as an opportunity to recognize community leaders, volunteers and students.

Eight awards will be presented in categories: Volunteer, Employee, Business, Male Student, Female Student, Educator, First Responder and Farmer of the Year.

The chamber is seeking nominations for the annual 2014 Community Awards in the categories of Business, Volunteer, Farmer and Employee of the Year.

Nomination forms are available by contacting the chamber office by phone at 659-1936, in person at 111 West Main Avenue or by email at [email protected].

Completed nominations may also be returned to the chamber office by mail to PO Box 122, Ritzville, WA 99169.

The deadline to return nominations is Oct. 16.

A committee of three judges will select the recipient in each of the four categories.

Nominations for male student, female student and educator of the year are submitted by the school district while first responder of the year nominations are submitted by the Ritzville Volunteer Ambulance Association, Emergency Medical Technician coordinator, Adams County Fire Protection District No. 1 fire chief and Ritzville Volunteer Fire Department chief.

Recipients will receive the awards at the Ritzville Area Chamber of Commerce Banquet and Benefit Auction.
