Hunters cautioned for opening day

With opening day of hunting season right around the corner fire protection officials are asking hunters to be safe during this dry season.

Kevin Starring of Fire Protection District No. 3 asked hunters to use extra caution when driving ATV’s through CRP fields as rain is not expected during the opening of the season.

With the lack of moisture, the heat from the exhaust could ignite the grasses and sagebrush in the fields very easily.
