Eastern Adams County's Only Independent Voice Since 1887

WLCF kicks off this week: Come support local exhibitors

It is fair time, and the first day of school is just around the corner.

FFA members will have 28 market hogs, eight market sheep, six market goats, 14 market beef and three prospect market beef that will go to the Adams County Fair.

I am really proud of all of our members with projects, they have all worked hard to complete them. The excessive heat this summer has made animal care a little more challenging.

If you have the time, stop by the fair on Thursday or Friday and check out our projects. Thursday will be the market judging and Friday is showmanship day. Both days will start with hogs at 8:30 a.m., followed by beef, sheep and goats in the afternoon.

Saturday the junior livestock sale will start at 1:30 p.m. All market animals will be auctioned off. If you are in need of locker meat I invite you to attend. If you are only in need of half a hog, half or quarter beef contact a sale committee buyer and they will try and pair you up with other buyers.

Also, if you are unable to attend the sale they can buy for you. Sale committee buyers are Randy Kulm at 509-650-7180, Bob Schoessler at (509) 660-3117 or Dan Galbreath at 509-660-0850.

See you at the fair!
