Primary Election: Washtucna levy in danger of failing

Results show every levy on the Primary Election ballot passing with the required super majority vote with the exception of the Parks and Recreation District No. 2 maintenance and operation (M&O) levy for the Washtucna pool.

All M&O levies must receive a super majority vote of 60 percent approval in order for them to pass.

As of Aug. 5 the results stood at 59.38 percent of voters approved and 40.62 percent of voters rejected the proposed levy for Parks and Recreation District No. 2. The levy funds the operation of the Washtucna pool, which just reopened this summer after extensive repairs.

Voters approved the Cemetery District No. 1 M&O levy in Washtucna with 79.38 percent approval.

The Parks and Recreation District No. 3 in Lind levy passed with 65.45 percent approval from voters and Parks and Recreation District No. 4 in Ritzville received 69.26 percent approval for its proposed levy.
