Danekas Road project moves forward

At the Monday meeting of the Adams County Commissioners Public Works Director Todd O’Brien gave a report of work in the county.

O’Brien reported that despite having an ad in multiple papers he has not received any applications for the two solid waste positions that are available in Adams County. He said that if he doesn’t get someone soon he might have to contract truck drivers to haul solid waste so that drivers from maintenance crews are not pulled away to haul solid waste.

Engineer Scott Yaeger then presented the commissioners with the final pay estimate of $26,304.01 to Da Atley Crushing Company.

Commissioner Roger Hartwig moved that the board sign the final pay estimate and Commissioner John Marshall seconded, the motion carried unanimously.

Yaeger then reported to county commissioners on Monday about the progress of the Danekas road project. He said the sub-grade was completed and that the contractor would be working on the Hills Road intersection for the next three days.

Crews would also be moving the second layer of base coarse working west towards Hills Road.

Once the second layer of base coarse is laid crews will add one layer of top coarse before paving can begin. The contractor is on schedule to be completed with the gravel and ready for paving by Aug. 18.

With nothing further to report the meeting concluded.
