Paving, patching to begin soon

City council members and city staff acknowledge Tuesday that asphalt paving can’t be completed soon enough in the areas where construction crews cut into streets last fall.

Halme Construction is expected to return to Ritzville by the end of the week. According to an engineering report, actual paving of the areas on several streets should be conducted April 30 through May 2, weather and conditions permitting.

The areas needing work include Main Avenue, First Avenue, Jefferson Street, Division Street and the intersection at Ninth Avenue and Jackson Street.
