Washtucna FFA Spring District 9 Achievements

The Washtucna FFA chapter members competed in sub-districts and the District 9 events over the past month.

At the sub-district Job Interview competition, Garret Correll, Brittany Gordon, and Nicole Harder competed. In the competition, Correll received fourth place, Gordon earned fifth place and Harder placed sixth.

The same three students moved on to compete in the district Job Interview contest and Correll secured the top place finish and an opportunity to move on to compete at the Washington State FFA Convention on May 17. Gordon finished fourth in the district and Harder took fifth place.

During the sub-district Creed contest, Kaylee Pavone, Nicole Harder and Britte Harder recited the creed. Britte Harder received third place in sub-districts, and continued on to the district competition where she placed second. The second place finish provides Britte Harder with an opportunity to travel to the state convention to compete in Creed.

On March 15, the chapter took two teams to the Big Bend Community College campus to compete in the Food Science contest. The first team placed second overall, and the second team finished in fourth place. Pavone, Nicole Harder and Britte Harder all placed in the top five high individual scores, with Nicole earning first, Pavone finished second and Britte received fourth.

The first team consisted of Britte Harder, Kaylee Pavone, Gail Harder, Levi Allen, and Garrett Correll. The second team members were Nicole Harder, Eric Wise, Brittany Gordon, and Jazzmyn Gordon.

Washtucna also had two teams of students participate in the Agronomy competition on March 15, where they earned a chance to compete in the state Agronomy contest.

The Agronomy team members traveled to Pullman on March 26 and placed sixth in the state. Team members were Nicole Harder, Britte Harder, Pavone and Levi Allen.
