Public library offers a busy April schedule of events

The Ritzville Public Library has a full schedule of activities for local residents to participate in during the month of April. The library is open six days a week, from 11 a.m. until 8 p.m. Monday through Thursday, Friday from 11 a.m. until 5 p.m., and Saturday from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m.

Aside from the monthly events, the week of April 13-19 also marks National Library Week.

Additionally, the library is welcoming donations of gently used Legos, board games, puzzles, novelty baking pans and leftover craft supplies to use for various programs.

Every Monday, the library hosts preschool story time for children between the ages of two and five. The story time consists of 45 minutes of books, songs and crafts for the children to participate in.

April 9, students between the ages of eight and 12, are welcome to attend Page Turners Book Club at 4 p.m. The group is reading, “Chomp” by Carl Hiaasen and additional copies of the book are available at the library.

Children of all ages are invited to play board games on April 7 from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. On Friday, April 11, individuals are welcome to attend Crafternoon from 3:30 until 5 p.m. and make crafts for Easter.

Any individual needing help with learning how to sync and swap files between an iPhone, iPod, Android or Windows phone and a computer is invited to attend Smart Phones 101 on April 15 at 6 p.m. All individuals interested in attending the seminar are asked to register at the front desk or call 659-1222 to be included in the class.

On April 18, the library is playing The Nut Job at 3:30 p.m. for the regular Movie Matinee event. Tuesday, April 22, the Lego Club kicks off the two-hour event at 3:30 p.m. with building Lego structures.

The Pushing the Limits Book Club is meeting on April 24 at 6:30 p.m. to discuss “Thunderstruck” by Erik Larson. Additional copies of the book are available at the library.
